Reach Out and Read’s 7th Annual Read and Romp

Reach Out and Read San Diego (RORSD) held its seventh annual Read and Romp on February 27th, 2016 at the McMillin Event Center at Liberty Station in Point Loma. The fundraising event included a raffle, silent auction, as well as dance and story time. Storybook stations carried themes of classic children’s books such as Maurice Sendaks’ “Where the Wild Things Are” and featured related games, arts and crafts projects, and other fun activities. First 5 San Diego was a proud of sponsor the event, and hosted a booth that encouraged parents to read to their children and promote a love of reading.

RORSD prepares children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. RORSD serves more than 65,000 children and their families annually. For more information about Reach Out and Read San Diego, visit www.rorsd.org.
