March is National Reading Month!
Reading to children benefits their cognitive and vocabulary development, as well as their critical thinking skills and abilities. It’s also fun! Reading can:
- Set up children for success in school and beyond
- Empower children to explore limitless worlds through the pages of books
- Unlock doors to knowledge, imagination and opportunities
That is why this National Reading Month, we are sharing resources from long-time early childhood literacy champion United Way of San Diego County (UWSD).
UWSD believes all children, young adults and families deserve the chance to succeed, and works in alignment with teachers, schools, organizations and community members to close gaps in literacy development countywide. You can learn more about their efforts at https://uwsd.org/
