The holidays are here! That means gatherings, traditions, decorations—and some safety hazards that might get overlooked.

Here are some tips and friendly reminders to keep your little safe, merry, and bright through the new year:

Decorate with care: Avoid using small decorations or ornaments that could be choking hazards for young children. Look for kid-friendly substitutes, such as plush ornaments or DIY paper crafts to spread holiday cheer.

Beware of allergens: Invited to or hosting a holiday party? Ask your guests if anyone has food allergies or sensitivities. Many pre-packaged holiday treats contain small parts or allergens that can be harmful to little ones.

Supervise candles and fireplaces: There’s nothing like creating a warm and cozy atmosphere with lighting. Be sure to keep lit candles and open flames away from children or consider using flameless candles for a safer alternative.
