First 5 San Diego has teamed up with the San Diego Zoo and Channel 93.3’s Geena the Latina for a live virtual book reading of “Karen’s Heart,” a heartwarming book that features the true story of a brave baby orangutan named Karen. Karen’s poignant story, written by Georgeanne Irvine, is illustrated with engaging photographs and includes a section featuring fun facts about orangutans. “Karen’s Heart,” published by San Diego Zoo Global Press, is part of its new San Diego Zoo Kids Hope and Inspiration Series.
