Dr. Akilah Weber is hosting the 9th annual Backpack Giveaway on Sunday, August 13 at the Lemon Grove Recreational Center where over 1,000 backpacks will be given away for students of all ages filled with school supples. Priority is for residents in the 79th Assembly District. Register now!
On August 20 and 21, the timeless magic of fairy tales will be brought to life through dance inside the Casa del Prado Theater in Balboa Park. See performances of “Rapunzel,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” and so much more by the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet.
August 20 is the 4th Annual Military Heroes Festival at Liberty Station. This event offers free groceries, backpacks, clothing, diapers, treats, giveaways, resources, entertainment, food, exotic animal presentation and appearances by your favorite superheroes! Dressing up in your favorite superhero costumes in encouraged!
Black Tech Link is hosting their 2nd Annual Community Health Fest and STEM Fair on Saturday, August 27 at the Educational Cultural Complex. Event starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m.
