First 5 San Diego Programs Highlighted at World’s Largest Annual Meeting for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Leaders
On October 22, 2014, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) held their 61st Annual Meeting at the Manchester Grand Hyatt and Marriott Marquis and Marina in San Diego, Calif. More than 4,000 medical professionals attended the annual meeting, which is the world’s largest gathering place for leaders in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry, children’s mental health, and other allied disciplines. The AACAP encourages all organizations committed to children’s mental health to support the clinical practice and science of child and adolescent psychiatry through the Annual Meeting.
The full-day practicum titled “Early Childhood Mental Health: Identifying and Treating Developmental and Social and Emotional Problems before the age of 5,” coordinated by Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, highlighted First 5 San Diego’s Healthy Development Services (HDS) and KidSTART programs. More than 30 psychiatrists from across the nation learned about the innovative treatments provided by these programs. For more information about the AACAP, visit www.aacap.org.
