First 5 San Diego is pleased to have sponsored and attended the It’s How We Live! (IHWL!) Community Health and Wellness Fair on February 4th at Lindo Lake County Park. Proceeded by the Lakeside Union School District’s Run for the Arts, the free community event promoted active, healthy lifestyles and provided attendees with the resources to achieve this healthier lifestyle, including tips on healthy living, fitness opportunities, crafts, bounce houses, and much more.

Read & Romp
Reach Out and Read San Diego (RORSD) held its 8th annual Read and Romp on February 25th at the McMillin Event Center at Liberty Station in Point Loma. The fundraising event included a raffle, silent auction, and a private concert by well-known children’s band Hullabaloo. Storybook stations carried themes of classic children’s books such as Dr. Seuss’ “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” and featured related games, arts and crafts projects, and other fun activities. First 5 San Diego hosted a booth at this event that encouraged parents to read to their children and promote a love of reading.
RORSD prepares children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. RORSD serves more than 65,000 children and their families annually. For more information about Reach Out and Read San Diego, visit www.rorsd.org.
