First 5 High Five

First 5 San Diego is proud to announce the County of San Diego has officially recognized SAY San Diego (Social Advocates for Youth), MJE Marketing Services, Inc., and the American Academy of Pediatrics – California Chapter 3 (AAP-CA3) as Live Well San Diego partners.

On June 4th, Supervisor Ron Roberts awarded SAY San Diego (Social Advocates for Youth) a Proclamation as a Live Well San Diego partner at a celebratory luncheon, joined by several county officials including First 5 San Diego Executive Director Kim Gallo. SAY San Diego is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to partner with children, families and communities to overcome barriers and create opportunities that enable them to realize and sustain their full potential. Currently, SAY is a direct service provider for First 5 First Steps, First 5 San Diego’s targeted home visiting initiative.

At the First 5 San Diego’s Commission Meeting on June 29th, Supervisor Dianne Jacob, chairwoman of the First 5 Commission, presented Proclamations to MJE Marketing and AAP-CA3, for outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the health and wellness of county residents.

MJE Marketing works with First 5 San Diego and was recognized for its commitment to create high-quality, effective campaigns that demonstrate return on investment, create strong partnerships and promote First 5 San Diego’s vision. MJE marketing recognized the importance of educating the public on establishing healthy habits at an early age by crafting the “Healthy Start” educational campaign, and reaching thousands of San Diego County residents with messages promoting healthy living for children, families, and communities.

AAP-CA3 is the local Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a national organization of pediatricians who dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. AAP-CA3 was recognized for its dedication to achieving optimal health for all children in San Diego County, its leadership to provide countywide coordination and support to the Healthy Development Services project and First 5 First Steps home visitation program, collaborative efforts to combat childhood obesity, serving as the organizing agency for Reach Out and Read San Diego, and its continued partnership with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency to enhance behavioral health care capacity in the pediatric medical home.
