Fallbrook Early Childhood Learning Center

Service Area: North Inland: Fallbrook
Funded Amount: $3,660,353

The First 5 Commission of San Diego County has allocated funding toward the construction and furnishing of an Early Childhood Learning Center in Fallbrook, Calif.

The funds will be used to construct and furnish the center, which will include two preschool classrooms, one special education preschool classroom, two walk-in-and-play classrooms, a parent education room, a playground and support areas.

The new Center will open the doors to approximately 100 children each year who currently have no preschool. In addition, the school will work with 100 special education students in a safe, structured environment. In addition to preschool, the center will offer dental, hearing and vision screening as well as parent education, referral and counseling. Walk-in-and-play areas will give children and parents a setting to build social, emotional and cognitive skills.

The Early Childhood Learning Center is a 10,345-square-foot facility located on a two-acre site at the intersection of Fallbrook Street and Main Avenue. The project consists of two classroom/multipurpose use buildings and an administrative building. The project has the latest in audio-visual technology. The buildings have flexible interior space by using collapsible interior partition walls. There are ample outdoor playground facilities. The project is funded via a grant from First 5 Commission of San Diego, with matching funds (in kind) from Fallbrook Unified Elementary School District.
